Who’s up for some MAG? I’ve only played it once, when I got the Move controller and I got destroyed so I’ll probably use the ordinary controller next time! It hasn’t caught the attention of Youtubers like BLOPS or BfBC2 has but there must be more people playing it than Medal of Honour online surely? (Don’t call be Shirley!)

You’d think I had loads of time to spare. Might be a few days before I get a chance to play again!

Sorry, Shirley, I don’t have MAG.

Sure, next time I see you on MAG I’ll give it a go. Sniping in MAG is much easier then close combat anyway since you’re attacking bases and loads of campers camp camp-style. tried playing it with the move and its like using the controller with two thick gloves. Which would still be okay if you up against AI. But people just won’t give you the several seconds it takes for the move to center on them.

LOL, it’s so annoying when enemy players refuse to stand there so you can shoot them! Sorry I couldn’t play last night, I was exhausted!

    Hello Playstation Move!

Well, I bought a Playstation Move controller and a navigation controller, plus MAG, as that’s the only shooter supporting Move out there right now.

I’ve only played 2 of the supplied demos, Shooter (accurate but yawn inducing on-rails shooter) and Echochrome ii, an interesting game where you line up shadows to allow a character to run across the screen and escape.

MAG is now loading. It downloaded a 35MB PS3 update fairly quickly but the second 520.84MB update is crawling along.

Yeah, it’s just like the Wii, but with fancy graphics.

Oh yeah, Blur is gone. Traded it in along with several other games. Good riddance!

Mandatory “useless without picts”. From you too. I’m floored. 😉

Seems too gimmicky for me yet. When enough games have it I’ll get it.

Note to self. Do not try to play Halo Reach while MAG is downloading a big ass update. Sorry Tye, Breeduh. Catch you later!

The good news is that the 300MB it downloaded wasn’t in vain. It resumed.

Steph – I shall see about capturing a video of me waving a pink Move controller around in the air, just for you! 🙂

The Eyepet demo was a huge hit with my 3yro son. Might even buy the full game!

Got the playstation move and a second controller for visitors, I’m currently using it to bash and shield myself in that gladiator game. Also got resident evil 5, now that I see you got MAG I’ll get that also, although I am wondering how good I’ll be against living opponents using the move. Looking forward to Killzone 3 and dead space extraction!!! (they really should have had a better lineup).

Gamestop Trade-in list for Playstation Move

Gamestop are offering a trade in for the Playstation Move starter pack. Trade in 2 games and pay €14.99 for the new motion controller. play.com has the pack for €55.99 so it might be worth checking out how much you can get for these games in other stores as you’re only getting €20 per game, some of which are quite new.

I notice that COD WAW for the Wii is on the list, as is Blur for the PS3 (and my hate for that game is without limit) so there’s plenty to go with. MW2 is there too but I think I’d rather keep that than play Blur again.

Will you be getting the new Playstation Move controller?

    • getcrackin 8:46 pm on October 1, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Nope. How don’t have that many games, anyway.

    • getcrackin 9:02 pm on October 1, 2010 Permalink | Reply

      BTW, what happened with Blur?

      • Donncha 10:23 pm on October 1, 2010 Permalink | Reply

Oh, I think it was coming last in every single race and the grinding you have to do to get a decent car. David mentioned somewhere that you had to get to level 25 or something to unlock the good cars.

I just found it unrewarding and not fun at all.

Playstation Move, from the future by Kevin Butler.

It’s funny, and throws a few punches at the Wii and Natal but did you see the guy hunched over playing the FPS? If I had to do that for any length of time I’d be sending Sony the bills for my physio!

Oh, here’s a less than glowing review of the Playstation Move.

How did people react? There is a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the product, and people were talking about similarities to Nintendo titles and about the price of the product in hushed tones. There were jokes made about the look of the Move; many people compared it to a certain sexual toy. Others placed the glowing orbs on their crotch, to mimic testicles. In short, there wasn’t a lot of love for the Move at the launch.

No, no, no, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That pretty much sums up my attitude to “revolutionary” input devices on current platforms. The Wii barely pulls it off – and it was designed to use revolutionary input devices so what makes Microsoft and Sony think they can do better?

When I play a game, I like to use a ‘controller’. The clue is in the name – control. I’m not in the game, I’m controlling what happens – waggling a hunk of plastic at the screen doesn’t change that. And being able to throw hooks instead of doggy paddling your opponent isn’t like real boxing either! You get no real force feedback from these devices that could make them more realistic. When you shoot your virtual gun does the controller fly wildly up in the air to mimic recoil – probably not, but while your aiming at the screen remains on target, in game your gun is probably shooting clouds. Do you get an elbow jarring, wrist breaking impact when you throw a punch in the boxing game? No, but your opponent’s head has come off……

In my opinion they need to step away from the gimmicks. Yes, it’s interesting, but you just know that using those controllers you WILL end up catching red balls, and variants thereof (just like on the Wii).

Agreed; these gimmicks are all marketing ploys to get non-gamers to participate in the medium. Hardcore gamers and FPSers (such as myself) will never ever ever play a game in this manner. These things belong in the toy aisles of Wal-Mart.
