    L4D2: Help them up!

Lord of Angry mmmmmar person was a bit of a douche when we played L4D2 gibfest tonight. It was great fun until that guy joined. He was fairly useless, charging ahead and shooting us all the time.

We got our revenge when he got knocked down. Duck watched as his health slowly drained away. He wasn’t happy! 🙂

The Lord of Anger Management needed a lesson in not being an arse.

I love the democracy-in-action box on the left. IMPEACH! hahaha
You know, I downloaded this game months ago and still haven’t played it. Is there a campaign or is it all MP?

      • Donncha 12:28 pm on October 13, 2011 Permalink | Reply

There is a campaign you can play single player but then bots take over the other 3 members of your team. Playing the campaign with us is a lot more fun! There are quite a few different MP modes too, gibfest is a temporary “mutation” that’s active now. Everyone gets an M60 with infinite ammo.

        It’s bloody 🙂

Fly! The new Minecraft map is now live!

Minecraft is dead, long live Minecraft! The old map that used to be on the Minecraft server is gone, and replaced with a fabulous map generated from the seed “fly”. Don’t worry, the old map isn’t completely gone. When you login there’s a link to the zip file where you can download it, and instructions on installing it too.

OMG…….My Dvotee sig, my wolves, OMFG my secret cave and entrance…all gone??

Will the download link always be there or is it a one off thing….I guess I need to log in and have a look around then.

    • Donncha 7:11 am on July 19, 2011 Permalink | Reply

The download link will remain, at least until someone posts it on a public forum and everyone decides to download it and then uses all my bandwidth!

Even though I removed op status from all players it’s still handy to teleport around so I added this plugin to do that.

Huh??? No OP status so we have to go and find our crafting materials as wll…..you be testing us Mr Donncha 😉

I added the LWC plugin to provide protection for chests. Here are some commands for it. I used /cpublic to lock my own chest, though I haven’t test it yet.

I may also install command book and PlgSetspawn.

Just catching up, I’ll check those plugin’s out later tonight, time allowing 😉

Just a test message, hope you don’t mind me using your site to try it out 😉

    Hours of fun with Sanctum

That’s what an hour and a half of playing Sanctum looks like! Great games with the guys last night but in casual mode it’s just a little too easy. The damage to our core happened when enemy flew over us and we were so busy shooting the ground based guys!

I think Tye and Duck both recorded a few rounds so there might be a commentary coming from them in the next few days.

Live “commentary” thanks to Duck. 🙂

    Beat Hazard Ultra + Megablast

Woah! Beat Hazard Ultra is a manic asteroids type game where the tempo of the game is dictated by the music you choose. I picked 90’s classic Megablast by Bomb The Base. Great fun. The score above is nothing special, but the mix of familiar or favourite music and hectic gameplay is a winner!

    BfBC2: Fighting Back against CheaTs

A recent game I had with Gavin and ThrashHMG against a very tough attacking team. Somehow we kept them off, and I think they were just unlucky not to get the 3rd base as they flanked behind us and were picking off defenders at their leisure!

Well done team, and great to see Bravo 2 Company do well! 🙂

It feels like it’s been forever since the last big PS3 B2C night. Might try to arrange for one toward the end of the month when I expect to have my new Slim system up and running.

    TF2: Heavy vs Spy

Just a short clip of me as a brazen spy flanking a hulking heavy, iTimoleagueDuck who was ripping my team apart.

We had some great games tonight though both of us are still noobs at it. We still managed to score highly on the leaderboards and I refuse to credit the fact we were playing with a few bots for that achievement. We rocked! (As much as any noobs will!)

    First go playing TF2 online!

So, after playing against bots for a few days I joined a Team Fortress 2 server this evening with David and we had a pretty good time! First David joined an empty payload server escorting a train to the other side of the map. Good clean fragging fun there, especially with a rocket launcher!

Next a game of capture point on Gravel Pit and we got thrown on to different teams. Woah, great stuff! The server was a mixture of humans and bots though I didn’t realise that for a while. The replay function works really well but I didn’t have Quicktime installed so I couldn’t save them. Sucks that I lose the recordings when I exit TF2! 😦

PS. Thanks Deffik and Shaz for the games of Bad Company 2. My computer just wasn’t up to the task this evening, though I did enjoy taking down all those helis with the VADS!

David blasting my team to smithereens with his minigun!

You don’t lose the recordings unless they update the engine. The replays are stored in the same format as the data sent to you while you’re on the server.

Thanks Ben! You’re right. I’ll render one tomorrow hopefully! 🙂

Ahh, I’ve got a similar picture, but it’s of you. Unless that screenshot disappears when you exit as well? Thanks again Donncha.

If you pushed the key it told you to, the screenshot is stored in [steam dir]/steamapps/[steam username]/team fortress 2/tf2/screenshots.

I should get the Orange Box soon so we could play TF2 instead of BC2 if your PC is having troubles with it. :]

PC Fun on Bad Company 2

Defffik was good enough to record some of our games last night. First time for David playing the PC version of Bad Company 2, Gavin is fairly new to that version too and I leveled up to 10 so we’re all a little rusty playing with mouse and keyboard.

It was my first time playing with the my new mouse, the Logitech G500, and it made a huge difference! I bound buttons on the mouse to knifing, use, and grenades as well as using the higher DPI for the tanks which is like pumping gallons of WD-40 into the turret. That thing flies around when the sensitivity is pumped up!

‘Course, when we came up against a team of level 50s David, Gavin and I suffered badly but we still had a great time.

    • Redd_dragons 3:11 pm on May 10, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Interesting, I’ve been looking at the g500 on Tye’s recommendation. So you bind a key that will up the DPI? or you just run a higher dpi all the time? PC gaming is confusing haha

      • Donncha 3:40 pm on May 10, 2011 Permalink | Reply

Yup, besides the wheel, there are 5 configurable buttons (and the wheel has left/right too).

2 buttons by default can be configured to change DPI on the fly. You can set 3-5 steps of DPI, I use 3 and there’s an LED display marking the step. So for running around as infantry I use 1600-2000 DPI and in tanks I use 5700 DPI. Because the sensitivity is set the same all the time, the mouse moves your cursor faster at higher DPI. In tanks it moves the turret a LOT faster.

    I could die here, awesome!

Footage from a great session of Left 4 Dead 2 games the other night on PC with TyeWebb, Shaz1874 and of course MrCheapKills who recorded the video.

NSFW audio but of course why would you be watching a gameplay video during work?

    SergeantBruun’s Tower

A very impressive monolithic tower on our Minecraft server, extending right from the bottom of the world to the top (I think). I’m getting dizzy just looking up..

Yes it goes from the top of the world to the very bottom 🙂
